The use of microwaves against animal wood pests is practical and scientifically proven. In the research project funded by the DBU (Az. 20232-45) in cooperation with the Federal Research Institute for Forestry and Timber Industry (BFH), Institute for Wood Biology and Wood Protection and the Westphalian Open-Air Museum (WFM) Detmold, the effectiveness, environmental compatibility and health safety of the process were examined proven. ​
